Hearing Things: Ecologies of Sound and Beyond
While the second season of the Sensing Literature School for Talents Faculty Project had been devoted specifically to the expressivity of sound and aurality in typographic literary texts and the role of radio as a means for connecting the public to the work that sound does in literature, the English Literature and Culture collaboration with HORADS 88,6 has been longstanding, from seminars on Radio Journalism from Geoff Rodoreda to the creation of a multimedia radio show, Ecologies of Sound, modeled after those airing on BBC in Northern Ireland and RTÉ in Ireland. Ultimately, through our collaboration with HORADS and the programme director Lion Oeding, our students have also had the opportunity to pragmatically explore the potentiality of a future career in radio broadcasting.
