All important information about studying abroad.

Study Abroad Programmes

The University of Stuttgart has study abroad programmes in numerous countries, including Australia, Canada, South Africa and the U.S. The Department of English Literatures currently has four Erasmus partner universities:

For more information, please come by the International Office or contact the Erasmus coordinator Dr. Martin Windisch. They will inform you about

  • the best time to go abroad

  • the application process

  • funding possibilities

  • recognition of credits earned at universities abroad (only Dr. Windisch)
  • further queries regarding a stay abroad

Recognition of Credits Earned Abroad

To ensure that your courses will be accredited after your return to Stuttgart, we will be happy to advise you on course selection before your stay abroad. Courses that entail workloads which are equivalent to courses at our Department will be accredited after your return. For more information, please contact Dr. Windisch.

Please note, however, that we are unable to accept any classes taken abroad for the module “Linguistic and Literary Competence” in the Master of Education degree. This module requires a 60-minute oral exam and therefore cannot be substituted with another class.
