After studying English philology, computational linguistics and computer science at the University of Freiburg, Guido Isekenmeier earned his Ph.D. in the context of the graduate research group ‘Transnational Media Events from Early Modern Times to the Present’ at the University of Gießen with a thesis on the representation of the 2003 Iraq War on American, British, German and Swiss television. He worked as a lecturer at the University of Bochum, where he also coordinated a research network on ‘Literary Visuality Studies’ which was funded by the German Research Foundation. Since 2012, he is assistant professor of English literatures at the University of Stuttgart.
