Jessica Bundschuh promovierte in Kreativem Schreiben und Englischer Literatur an der University of Houston und besitzt einen MFA (Master of Fine Arts) von der University of Maryland. Bevor sie der Fakultät der Englische Literaturen & Kulturen (ELK) an der Universität Stuttgart beitrat, ursprünglich als Fulbright Lektorin in Amerikanische Literatur & Kultur, unterrichtete sie an mehreren Universitäten in den USA. Ihre Forschungs- und Lehrinteressen sind die vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft (amerikanisch, britisch, irisch), zeitgenössische Poetik und Performance, die Geschichte des englischen Epos, und die britische Romantik. Ihr aktuelles Projekt widmet sich der Politik der poetischen Form.
